Dr. Gelrud is a board certified physician, and has extensive Veterans Affairs and private sector medical experience. He has held chairman appointments on numerous medical committees that, for example, focus on: improving physician engagement scores as measured by Gallup; improving communications between physicians and administrators; managing staffing shortages; and workflow oversight for electronic medical records. Dr. Gelrud has been the recipient of Richmond Magazine’s “Top Doc” the past four years and was awarded the Excellence in Care of the Dying Award from Bon Secours Hospital System. Dr. Gelrud’s service includes physician care at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Baltimore, MD as well as support of various veterans groups. Dr. Gelrud holds his Degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland, and Internship and Residency with the University of Florida.
