SDV INTERNATIONAL visits the new Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Mobility Center at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. The FAA’s Mobility Center opened in October, and it showcases the most advanced technologies in office space design.
The FAA’s Mobility Center was designed for FAA’s global workforce that temporarily works in the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Mobility Center features creative uses of lights, colors, textures, acoustic materials, ergonomic furniture, a café area, a locker room, audio-visual equipment, and secure physical and network access. The center includes state-of-the-art technology that is seen at companies like Google, Facebook, LivingSocial, and AOL. The Mobility Center is an important advancement for the agency to help attract talent that may otherwise be courted by the private sector.
The positive response by FAA staff has been tremendous, and it is clear that the Mobility Center’s designer, Bunmi Shofu, has a clear vision for what it will take for the agency to succeed in creating more innovative and healthier workspaces.
